Outfit Favourites: October
Girl Next Door Fashion is a year old on 22nd December, so over the next few weeks I'm going to be looking back over my favourite outfits and posts from the last year. You can see my outfit favourites from January-March here, April here May to August here and September here.
Wow the days are certainly catching up with me- only 1 day left and I have October and November to cover before my Blogaversary!!
8th October 2010
I love this outfit because it's just so simple. Pretty dress, ankle socks and brogues. What more do you need? I really should wear my pretentious geek glasses more though. I've fallen back in love with this dress- I've remixed it a lot lately!!
7th October 2010
This outfit was so simple and so fun. The red lipstick really made it. I really liked the black and white colour scheme, the feminine shapes and the french-vibe this outfit had.
9th October
This is probably one of my favourite outfit shoots ever. I love how the mustard of my cardigan matches perfectly with the trees behind me. I love being able to wear summer clothes all year round and this felt like such an autumnal outfit. And Duluth looked so beautiful that day!!
14th October 2010
This sounds a little stupid, but I think this outfit was a defining moment for me. It was when I really started to find my style and have fun with mixing themes and ideas and textures. I really, really love this shoot. I was inspired by a picture I saw in a magazine of a girl in a tutu and khaki military jacket and lusted over a khaki jacket for weeks before realising "wait, I have a military jacket." Both the skirt and jacket here were bought on a bit of a whim, but seeing this shoot again reminds me that they were such great purchases!!
30th October 2010
Oh how I love this outfit. I find winter wear a bit of a struggle and end up resorting to a uniform of jeans, plaid skirts and jumpers, but this outfit was a revelation- I can wear my usual clothes in the winter!! I absolutely love my shoes in this look. One of my resolutions for the new year is to start wearing heels in the day time more. Obviously, it's not going to be a great idea here in Duluth, but I definitely want to give it a go at home and when the snow melts. I need to train my feet first though!! I just love how much more sophisticated heels make a look.
What do you think of October's outfits? What has been your favourite month so far?
Love to hear what you think, as always,
Charlotte xxx
