When life gives you browning bananas...

You wanna know the truth? I'm not wearing this today. Nor was I wearing this yesterday.  Last week I wore and photographed all of the remaining outfits so this week, while I'm doing "business casual" in London on my work experience, you still have something pretty to look at (and by that I mean my clothes, not me). Today is my first official day free from 30 for 30 and I'm relaxing in my maxi dress with no jewellery or accessories . Because I can, that's why. I know I'm not wearing it on these pictures, but I love my floral maxi. Those pictures make me both happy and sad to look at. This is also the dress I'm wearing on the picture of Erick and I in Chicago that he got framed for my leaving present. Anyway, onto this outfit...

leopard skirt- vintage
lace top- select
cardigan- river island
shoes- H&M

This outfit was actually supposed to be outfit 20, but I didn't get round to photographing it (and by that I mean I was too lazy that day). I wasn't sure if it would work- the inclusion of this leopard skirt was a bit risky in my 30 for 30 items. I do have another outfit coming up including it though. I like the fact the white lace top breaks up the patterns, and I love the stripes. I stole this cardigan from my Mum- I think it will be a regular feature when the weather cools down.

Today is a perfect lazy Sunday. Well, lazy-ish. I'm getting the train to London at 5pm so I'm spending the day relaxing and packing. Oh and making muffins!! We had a couple of gross-looking bananas and didn't know what to do with them, so yesterday I grabbed some stuff from work to make chocolate chip banana muffins. The recipe is from my lovely friend, Laura, who I baked them with last year and they are yummy!! I'm going to bring some to London to share with my wonderful friend Poppy who is letting me stay with her this week. I'm super-excited. Now, onto the food porn...

Ingredients
3 large bananas
1 and 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 egg
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 butter (I used salted but if you use unsalted add some salt)
Chocolate chips (I used two small bags and they were very chocolatey!!)
Nuts (optional but I added walnuts)

Direction
Preheat oven to 375/190 degrees
Combine ingredients and mix
Spoon into a muffin tray with paper cases (I made 22 medium-sized muffins from my mix)
Bake for 18-24 minutes (I made quite small muffins so I only cooked them for 15 minutes- we also have a fan oven)
Enjoy with a cuppa!!

Mmm. This week has been a busy, but pretty nice week (despite being sick for most of it!!). I caught up with some friends, wrote A LOT of articles, worked, and had a lovely, lovely chat with Erick on Thursday. We talked for two whole hours (I have no idea what about!!) and I was in a lovely happy bubble for two days afterwards. I'm getting excited about it being August tomorrow. August means more work experience (I think I have 2 weeks arranged!!), two trips to London, a wedding (my Godmother is getting married in a couple of weeks- man, I'd better book a hair cut!!), and then September!! September means going back to uni and going back to uni means yay and also means Erick will be coming soon!! Granted, he's not coming til October but we're almost 2 months down, 2 and a half to go :DD Things are definitely getting easier. I no longer spend my entire messages and conversations with him moaning about how much I miss him and I've stopped snapping at him for no reason other than that I miss him. Things are still hard and I miss him every day, but in another phrase typical of Erick "it is what it is." Just gotta keep positive, keep talking and keep living our own lives.

I'll be back this week with more 30 for 30 outfits, but for now I'd better get packing for London!!

Have a lovely Sunday and make muffins!!
