So you don't wanna hear about my good day?
I wasn't going to blog today, I just couldn't be bothered. But I liked my outfit (which was inspired Jennifsieh) and on the days when I don't want to blog I usually feel better when I blog. And I did. I have my Mum to thank for that. A few days ago I was upset or moody about something or other, and my Mum told me to take off and redo my makeup and then I'd feel better. I was skeptical, but it worked. So today, feeling a little stressed, I curled up with Glamour for half an hour, had some "me-time" and then redid my makeup, before heading out for these photos. They aren't my favourite- my hair is a bit messy- but I'm glad I took some time to take them.
I had a bit of a cardigan crisis this morning. I decided to go for an all-brown toned outfit, but my brown cardigan was a little too auburn, my mustard cardigan was too yellow and while I liked my maroon cardigan, it just didn't work. So I gave up and went for the trench. I think it would have been too hot for both, in reality. It's perfect trench weather at the moment. I also wore these shorts from Matalan to celebrate the last day of the Matalan Style Project. The results are announced tomorrow- eee!!
leopard blouse- c/o Zalando
rust shorts- c/o Matalan
trench coat- Zara
boots- Barratts
Today has been a busy day. I had class this morning at 9am (hence the rushed hair), and then I ran into town at 12 to get a few things altered. I'm excited to get them back tomorrow. I've never had something altered before but I'm glad I went. I'm already considering taking in more stuff- it's like getting a whole new wardrobe!! Oh and I also had an amazing meeting with my support tutor today- he used to live in Chicago!! It's funny, I said to both my dad and Briony "guess where my tutor used to live?" and they both said "Minnesota". Then I said "no, my second favourite place!!" and they both guessed Chicago!! The talk went so well. I shall paraphrase...
Him: What do you want to do when you finish uni?
Me: I want to be a journalist
Him: Have you done any internships?
Me: Yes.
Him: Where?
Me: The Express Subbing Office, The Manchester Evening News and Love it! magazine
Him: That's great. Do you have a blog?
Me: Yep.
Him: What kind of blog?
Me: I have a style blog (I still feel a little awkward saying that!!)
Him: How many followers do you have?
Me: 330. About 700 views a day.
Him: Wow, that's just great. That's really what interviewers want to hear.
Yay!! Success!! Let's just hope all this hard work pays off eventually.
So that's all from me. I'll be back tomorrow!!

I love the shorts with the leopard print!! I hate having cardigan issues, I feel like half the time I never have the right shade. Sounds like a great day in the end

I love this outfit, hope you're feeling a bit better now, the make up trick really does work!! :)xx
ReplyDeleteFab and stylish look and every girl needs a bit of "me time" funnily enough at the weekend i got myself out my jammies dressed and attempted some new gel eyeliner,it makes a huge difference.
ReplyDeleteI usually force myself to take outfit photos even when I don't feel like it, just because blogging is pretty much the only steady thing I've stuck to in a very long time. I really don't want to let myself slip and stop posting altogether, which would be a little too easy sometimes. Little colour differences can drive me batty sometimes because I'm very matchy-matchy.
ReplyDeleteBeing a successful blogger is a great way to nail an interview. I really learned this! Congrats, lady! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this top of yours. Rawr.

I feel awkward telling people I have a style blog, too. Why is that? Ugh. But yay for impressing the tutor.
ReplyDeleteI like the colors in your outfit. See, I probably would have paired a black top with the rust colored bottoms (in fact, I did. You'll see in an upcoming post. I'm backed up by like two weeks). I like that you went with another brownish tone on top. It's refreshing.
P.S. I bought you a postcard. Send me your address!
I really love your hair in these pictures! I'm so excited for my hair to be long enough to style and do things with. :] I also really like this outfit. I love trench coats!! I feel like I need an unlimited supply of cardigans - I wish there was a website that sold all cardigans in every single color. Like a "We Love Colors" of cardigans, ha ha. :] I just need a rainbow of them.
