Swans in the Sun
Oh hey swan trousers. It has been far too warm to wear these trousers but I just love them too much! I actually wore this outfit on Saturday and Sunday. I know, such an outfit repeater. But I spilled food down myself on Saturday (don't I always?!) and had to wash the tshirt so the whole outfit resurfaced on Sunday. I decided to keep it super casual this time with just a white tshirt which I bought in October and only took the tags out of on Saturday (so bad!) and my black ballet flats. Oh and my new favourite necklace, which was £5. Bargain.
I've spent most of the last few days sorting things out for America. Less than two weeks to go- eek! It is exciting though- I will have lived in America for a total of 13 months and lived in two different States and I'm only 22. I'm actually arriving in the US less than a year after I came back from my year abroad! I think I worked out I will have visited 16 States in total by the time I come back- which doesn't sound that many when you consider I have 34 to go but not bad in 5 years! I'm finally starting to get excited. I think the problem with taking a big trip is there's so much to organise that it can feel so overwhelming that it's difficult to get excited. But I've done nearly all my online training now, and today I started with my extra swimming lessons to get me ready for my lifeguard training and I'm feeling much more confident about it. And let's face it, I'm getting paid to spend my summer at a water park on the Jersey shore. It should be an awesome summer. And then I have my 22 day road trip to look forward to, and then my trip back to Duluth to visit all my friends from my year abroad! I also found out today that I can get the megabus to Boston from New Jersey in 4 hours, so I'd love to try to squeeze that in before I leave! Eeek so exciting!

I think one of my biggest concerns about my trip is my blog. I'm only going to get two days off a week, and I'm working nearly 11 hour days, so I'm not going to get a lot of time to take outfit photos. Furthermore, it's going to be really really warm (and you know how I struggle to look stylish in hot weather!) and I'm only allowed to take one suitcase. So I think my blog might take a bit of a different direction while I'm away. Outfit photos aren't going away though. I have 12 weeks of work with 2 days off a week, so I have about 24 days in which I can take outfit photos (I'm going to be in my uniform the rest of the time!) so I'm going to think about it as a kind of 30 for 30 again. I know I can make 30 outfits from 30 items, so 24 days shouldn't be a problem at all! I hope my blog will go back to normal when I get back, but I know you guys will be supportive if there are some changes around my blog while I'm away.
Have a lovely day guys. I'm going to carry on compiling lists of things to do before I go!

PS. Sorry for the mega-amount of photos. Steph took these for me yesterday and I just love them!
The good thing about summer, though, is that it stays lighter later, so you could probably squeeze in a fun outfit in the evening a few days a week. Or at least that's what I try to do. It's really hard working full time! Even though I can wear what I want on a day-to-day basis, I usually find myself wearing a lot of the same things, otherwise it's too stressful! I know you'll have fun to New Jersey though-- I'm so excited for you! Even if you do less outfit photos (lord knows I don't do as many as I used to!) I'll still be excited to see you post. :]
ReplyDeleteAlso, this outfit is so cute! I decided not to get a pair of the swan trousers -- they were just a bit too expensive for my budget now. (Preparing to start paying Danny's loan payments of >$600/month is scaring me!)
Good luck with all your prep! Make sure you post photos of your travels, I have visited 0 states and am very jealous!

Those swan trousers are awesome every time you wear them! I wish I had a pair of trousers with that shape. They'll start getting them over here in the states in a couple years, I bet but I want them nowwwww! I have to hunt for some cool trousers for whenever the weather gets cooler (sometime in November probably!).
